Darlene attended the Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing for her nursing education. She obtained her diploma in nurse anesthesia practice from Washington Hospital Nurse Anesthesia Program. She was awarded a Bachelor of Science of Education from the California University of Pennsylvania and her Masters In Science of Education from the University of Pittsburgh.
Darlene previously worked for a private anesthesia contractor at Washington Hospital where she served as the administrative director. She currently serves as a clinical instructor for the Excela Health School of Anesthesia and the University of Pittsburgh Nurse Anesthesia program.
Darlene served as the President of the Pa Association of Nurse Anesthetists and Region 6 Director for the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. She was awarded the Clinician of the Year award in 2015.
